The surface of the water conceals the tremendous power of the hippopotamus. What appears as peaceful floating is, in fact, an uninterrupted watch. Hippos are intensely territorial and dedicate themselves to the defense of their patch of the lake. Their vigilance is a clear signal: they are capable of explosive aggression. Take a moment to appreciate these magnificent creatures, but never underestimate their power. Keep your distance and simply observe the ancient rhythm of their watch.

The fourth assignment in de Beste photo is double / multi exposure. Some carera's do have this option but my Sony not. Meaning with this assignment, need to Photoshop. I am not that experience with Photoshop and first did watch many youtube videos. It is a composition of 3 photos in Botswana. The background shot early in the morning with a very cloudy sunrise creating these beautiful colours. Next inserted the elephant, creating a mask and added a sunset in the elephant. With the fourth assignemnt of the beste Photo need to create a double/multi exposure. Tried to shoot Nino and me in the reflection of the water in Nature. Although it was very rainy, it is difficult to find a place where you have a nice view, where you can place the camere and Nino and me. Ended with this picture but as it was in the evening having some shutterspeed ended up with a high ISO.#0162

Deze mannetjes leeuw heeft een zware strijd gehad en een behiorlijk snee op zijn snuit. Ligt nu lekker in gras en vrouwtje ligt in de buurt. Echter hij is zeer waakzaam!! #0154

De eerste plas die we zien in Botswana (Moremi Kwai). In het eerste gedeelte zat een groep nijlaarden. Op de andere kant zien we deze 2 olifanten rustig aan het drinken. #0146

Alle ogen op jou gericht
Impala's zie je veel in Botswana. Dit is in Moremi Kwai reservaat. De impala's zijn zeer allert voor gevaar, want dit zijn geliefde maaltijden voor de leeuwen, luipaard of hyena. Toen wij voorbij kwamen waren alle ogen op ons gericht wat we gingen doen. Fantastisch tafereel.#0141

Leeuw man met kuif
In Moremi Kwai (Botswana), lag deze mannetjes leeuw lekker tussen het gras. Door het lange gras is deze soms moeilijk te spotten. Deze leeuw heeft een gevecht gehad met een andere leeuw. Het is namelijk paartijd en de mannen moeten echt hun best doen om een vrouwtje te krijgen. Nadat ze het gevecht gewonnen gaan de man en vrouw zich afzonderen om vervolgens de komende 3 dagen elke 20 minuten te paren.#0140

Nijlpaard met open bek
In Botswana zie je in elke plas nijlpaarden. Deze maken continue knorrende geluiden en zijn super allert. Mannetjes zijn behoorlijk dominant en trekken regelmatig hun bek open. Zeer indrukwekkend om die grote bek met tanden te zien. Dit zijn de gevaarlijkste dieren in het reservaat en kunnen snelheden tot 50 km/uur haken.#0137

Dit luipaard was op jacht in Moremi Kwai (Botswana). De gids kon in zijn jeep dicht bij de luipaard komen. Hij trok zich er weinig van aan en liep gestaag door.#0134

Een fantastische dag in de Amsterdamse Water Duinen waar we met 3 personen naar toe zijn geweest. 's Ochtends zeer vroeg vertrokken om bij zonsopgang het park in te kunnen lopen. Doel waren de damherten en de vossen te kunnen zien. In de AWD is het niet de vroeg of je damherten ziet maar hoeveel. Niet normaal zoveel damherten er lopen. De vossen hebben we helaas niet kunnen vinden. Wat ook fantastisch was, was dat we op een gegeven moment midden in het geweld van vechtende mannetjes zaten. Wat een belevenis. Maar wat heel bijzonder was, was dit mannetje damhert heerlijk in het gras lag te herkauwen. Ik kon echt heel dichtbij komen en het was een spel hoe dicht dat je erbij kon komen. Zolang hij aan het herkauwen was ging ik voetje bij voetje steeds dichterbij. Zodra hij stopte met herkauwen bleef ik staan. Het duurde niet lang en meneer ging weer verder met herkauwen zodat ik weer voetje bij voetje dichterbij kon komen. Dit spelletje van wederzijds respect hebben we een aantal keren gedaan totdat ik ongeveer 10 meter voor hem stond. Model bleef perfect liggen zodat je goed je positie kon bepalen. Deze foto is ongeveer op ooghoogte genomen van damhert. Diafragma helemaal open, sluitertijd op 1/640 en ISO kwam op 250 uit.

Deze twee zeehonden waren het niet eens met elkaar. Bekvechtend proberen ze hun gelijk te krijgen wat behoorlijk heftig tekeer kan gaan. Dit gebeurde op de zuidkant van Dune vlak bij de airstrip waar een groepje zeehonden lagen.

Deze twee zeehonden waren het roerend eens met elkaar. Zeer dicht liggen ze bijelkaar en keken elkaar liefkozend aan. Zeer schattig en een mooi portret. De zeehonden lagen op het zuidstrand van Dune (Helgoland).

Deze zeehond lag lekker op het strand en doet een diepe zucht. Het zand stuift omhoog en geeft een mooi portret versterkt in zwart-wit. De zeehonden lagen op het zuidstrand van Dune (Helgoland).

Deze zeehond ziet het echt niet meer zitten. Eerst allemaal vliegen om hem heen, prachtig mooi weer, fotografen om hem heen..... Voorpoot op zijn gezicht en slaat zo alles weg... Kiekeboe.

Op het nordstrand van Dune (Helgoland) lag deze zeehond lekker te relaxen en genieten van het prachtige weer. Wel een hele zwerm vliegen die rond hem hangen. Voorpoot probeert dee weg te slaan... maar je weet hoe het gaat met vliegen.
