Duuvels Kuul in the snow
The snow started on 2nd of January. It has been snowing for a couple of days. Also the temperatures went down up to -15C. On the lakes, people are ice skating. However at Duuvels Kuul it was too dangerous. Sunday the 12th of January is the last day we would have snow as the dawn is setting in. Nice day to go out for landscape photography. It should be a nice morning with sunshine. As soon we arrived... the clouds came in at which the sun was hiding.

Double rainbow above Nijmegen (Netherlands)
I was at home looking outside to the nice sky building up. It was raining heavily a few minutes ago. Now it is dry and I see a rainbow and this time it is complete. Also the second rainbow can be seen very subtly. I grabbed my DJI Mini 4 pro and lifted it up from our garden and made this panorama shot.

An impressive rain shower is coming over....
In Loro Cuiffenna (Italie), we saw this shower building up. A few days before, there was a very local shower with hail stones of 3 cm. A lot of damage to the olive and wine trees. Lasted just for 30 minutes and very local. We were just 30 km to the north and just had a few rain drops. This show is big and youc an see the rain. Now, here in Loro, we just had a few rain drops but very impressive to see.

Breeding grebe
It is early april. Past weeks, we have had a lot of sunshine in the Netherlands. Many birds have started breeding. I even saw the first geese with chicks. This grebe has to wait a bit longer before the eggs will hatch.

Sun eclips
It is saturday 29th of March 2025 and around noon, the moon is shifting in front of the sun creating a sun eclipse. It is cloudy which is in this case a benefit creating nice scenes. The small spot in the upper left of the sun is a sunspot. Sunspots are temporary, dark spots on the sun's surface. They are cooler than the surrounding areas and are caused by strong magnetic activity. and has the size of the earth. Next eclipse will be in august 2026 and 2027.

Sunset in de Haterse Vennen (Nijmegen)
After many cloudy-rainy days, we finally have a nice blue sky. Also the sunset was really nice. In the morning, it was very windy, however in the afternoon, the wind was going down causing the water to be like a mirror. Nice setting to be.

It is cold, it is misty. All the little mist drops freeze to the environment. The sun does not have the power to come through and everything is gray. The Highland cows are around to eat some grass and are curious what we are doing there. One of them is walking slowly to the path looking straight at us. The trees fade away and the setting is beautiful..

We had a fantastic day. The sunset is setting in. It is cloudy and not far from, it is raining. A group of elephants are passing by. Very close to us, an elephant is drinking. Bit further away, a group of elephants are passing by.

Autumn colours at the rail way
It is November. It is autumn and the weather is nice. No rain and sun. The trees in the outside environment are almost bare. In the forest, the trees are slowly starting to color. At the rail track, the colors are already beautiful. Around noon, the sun shines beautifully in it so that the colors light up beautifully.

Bank of porcelain mushrooms
On a beautiful Sunday morning, a walk through the forest. It is October and there are many mushrooms to be found. Especially with the beautiful warm weather we had recently you stumble over the mushrooms. In a deeper gully I came across these porcelain mushrooms on a trunk. I could not pass this one up to capture it. I made a focus stack with a large aperture for a limited depth of field. Very satisfied with the result.

Tiny sticky coral fungus
Last weekend of october. It was nearly the end of the morning and the sun was shining. Went for a walk with our dogs. Nearly at the end of the hike, I saw this tiny sticky coral fungus. It is about 2 cm high but easy to make a very nice shot.

Back of stump mushrooms
It is October and the mushrooms are shooting out of the ground. On a beautiful Sunday, while walking the dogs at Sionshof (Nijmegen) many mushrooms can be found. Right at the beginning I saw these bank stump mushrooms on a trunk. After finding the right angle I made a nice stack.

Who am I
It is October and the mushrooms are shooting out of the ground. On a beautiful Sunday, while walking the dogs at Sionshof (Nijmegen) many mushrooms can be found. At a sudden moment, I saw this lonely mushroom sitting on a trunck. Beautiful spot and nice colours.

The red hour
We are in Botswana in de Okavango Delta. The sun is going down, it is cloudy. During the golden hour, the sky is turning into beautiful red. This is really a wonderful experience. I also used the photo in the competition "the best photo" as a free subject. It was a close finish and just became second. #0158

Zonsopkomst
De wekker staat vroeg om 05:00. Achter onze camp-site willen we de opgaande zon fotograferen. Het is zwaar bewolkt, ... zou het iets worden... We zijn nu toch al op, dus maken wat we ervan maken kunnen. De zon begin te komen en er komt een fantastische rode gloed onder de wolken. Duurt maar een paar minuten. Erg mooi!#0144

Mijn inspiratie had ik van een bekende landschapsfotograaf, namelijk Albert Dros (https://www.albertdros.com/post/mushrooms-in-their-natural-world). De mooie herfstkleuren lieten lang op zicht wachten, maar de paddenstoelen waren volop aanwezig. Ik ben er vaak op uit geweest en vele kilometers gemaakt in bos, totdat ik deze mooie paddenstoelen zag. Deze waren goed bereikbaar en stonden mooi vrij. Mijn doel was om een foto te maken die van voor tot achter scherp is in de foto en heb hiervoor een focus stack gemaakt Vervolgens was het een balans van ISO, diafragma en sluitertijd. De foto's gestacked in Photoshop vanuit lightroom.

Tijdens een wandeling zag ik een omgevallen boom met deze paddestoel. Veel ruimte om de paddestoel aan de onderkant te fotograferen. Focus Stack gemaakt en verlicht aan de onderkant. Mooi zijn de texturen van de paddenstoel te zien.
